Ellie Goulding
Ellie Goulding was born Elena Jane Goulding in Hereford on December 30, 1986. Ellie Goulding rose quickly to the top of her game with her electronic pop sound after capturing the public's attention with "Starry Eyed" along with "Guns and Horses" in 2010. Although she started out writing songs in a folk-inflected style, she eventually grew into a more electronic-influenced artist, touching upon dance music and ambient synth pop. Goulding has been at the cutting edge as are Kate Bush and Imogen Sheap of contemporary mainstream music and of independent, arty pop. Her soprano voice and knack for writing emotionally honest songs are what make her stand out. Polydor Records signed her to one of their record labels and she began preparing for the debut album.
