Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco - a Canadian and American musician and singer. She has more than twenty albums. DiFranco describes her music as folk-rock or alternative, but it also contains influences such as hip-hop, punk and jazz. Ani Difranco is considered to be a symbol for feminist music. In the year 1990 she was one of the first to establish her own record label. DiFranco has two daughters: Elizabeth (Ross), and Dante Americo DiFranco. They were introduced at The Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her father was Italian descent and her mother was originally from Montreal. 32 Flavors is a song written that was performed and written by Ani DiFranco. The song was featured on her album Not a Pretty Girl which came out in 1995. The song was featured in the soundtrack for the Canadian romantic comedy Better Than Chocolate, released in 1999. DiFranco apologized in 2013 when it was revealed that she was hosting a 3-day workshop in an Louisiana ex-slave plantation. The event was cancelled, but some (including the newspaper) didn't think it was a sign of regret. DiFranco issued an additional apology only a few days later. While she is known by the name of Little Peoplesinger, she's collaborated with a variety of musicians and artists from Pete Seeger through Chuck D all the way to Prince. The singer lives in New Orleans. Ani is Kristen Ford. Within 14 years, she had begun writing her songs. They performed at coffeehouses, bars, and in the streets during her teens. DiFranco began taking lessons in Buffalo State College at age 16 following her graduation from the Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts. The baritone of Ani is a custom Alvarez guitar, which was designed after several meetings with Chrys who was an Alvarez artist representative during the time. It comes with the System 600 preamp and has all solid woods--a cedar top mahogany back and sides, and an Ebony fretboard. She's home with her two kids in New Orleans and Lefty, their sidekick long-legged canine who's always in the frame. DiFranco currently 30 years old, admits that looking back on the past caused her to have mixed emotions. Ani DiFranco rose to famous status as a singer/songwriter and punk/folk artist at 25, both in the eyes of critics and fans, with Not A Pretty Girl. Dilate brought even greater success to her music in the year 1996. Brandy (You're an A-Fair Girl) is a 1972 song from the American pop rock band Looking Glass from their debut album Looking Glass.
